Habit Assemblies
In action
Hey
Hope you’re having a nice week. Today, by popular demand…
Big idea 🍉
Today’s snack is a short video on Habit Assemblies, including a clip from the awesome Bay Leadership Academy (star of the forthcoming Series 2 of the Great Teaching Unpacked documentary).
Habit assemblies entail getting a large group of students together, outside the classroom, to practice core routines. Not only does this help with habit building, but the social norm effect of seeing so many peers all doing the same thing has a strong effect on culture.
So, if you’re a school that’s currently running teacher group rehearsal (Steplab’s PD builder is great for this), then you should definitely explore habit assemblies as a way to take things to the next level.
